CROCHET 101 : FINISHING UP

congratulations! you are almost finished with your first project! actually, if you don't want any button you are already finished. the choice is yours.

sew the cute big button on one end of the scarf/neck warmer.

now you can wrap it around your neck and slip the button through whichever stitch you like. not having designated buttonholes make it totally adjustable!

ps: i would love to see your recreations! tweet me!

check out how i made the beginning, the body and the end. ♥

first, hook one, and then go through the loop. next, hook another one, but now, insert through the first hole of our chained foundation.

hook another one, and go through all loops. repeat the process again and again. never losing hope and patience.

and when you reach the end of the line, don't forget to..

CROCHET 101 : the beginning

and i'm not even kidding. this is a crochet series where i will be teaching you some basic stitches and techniques on crocheting. i was able to make a few wearables that i learned only from the internet before, therefore, i am confident that crocheting is a skill that can be learned online. by the end of the series, you will be able to have your very own home-made garments to keep or give. it's both very simple and fun at the same time!

this is how you hold your yarn with your left hand (well, if you are right-handed otherwise it's the opposite)

now make a small knot using your crochet hook

repeat the process and make 16 (depending on how wide you want your scarf to be oops. you got me. yes. we are making a scarf for this series hahaha) and btw, this is called the chain stitch

looks kind of a mess but it's the beginning of something beautiful. stay tuned to learn more about other crochet stitches, and start working on the body of our scarf!
